The genus Poronia

This is a small genus with obvious affinities to Xylaria (& Podosordaria). Most species are coprophilous and normally produce perithecia in a disc-like more or less stipitate stroma. The disc is typically white or at least pale coloured. The spores are more symmetrical than in Xylaria and have thick slime-coats. Simialar coprophilous species with non-disarticulating anamorphs are ad interim referred to Podosordaria.

Anamorph: similar to Xylaria, but strongly disarticulating (Lindquistia).
