We highly recommend that you start by downloading and installing the demo version.
After installation try this:
1. Try identifying a common fungus, e.g. the Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria).
2. Try opening the species key to Amanita:
     First find the genus Amanita
Then go to the "Species identification centre"
     Choose the "pdf-keys"-tap
Click the link to "Jan Vesterholt 2008: Key to the Nordic species of Amanita"
The key should open in your preferred pdf-viewer.
3. If everything works, buy the license to gain access to all other keys.

MycoKey 3.2 installed version offers fully graphical synoptic keys to 874 genera of basidiomycetes and discomycetes, more than 2,400 species illustrated by more than 4,100 high quality illustrations, more than 17,000 references to literature and local names in Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Norwegian and Swedish.

You can analyze sets of genera to find discriminating characters, read descriptions of genera and selected species and find knowledge on distribution and taxonomy of genera and species by following the links to Gbif (try) and Index Fungorum (try).

A redesigned interface allows you to use the new Morphing Mushroom Identifier for agarics and boletes, to key selected genera to species level and to freely float and copy pictures and descriptions.

Version 3.2 also includes 196 state-of-the-art Funga Nordica analytic species keys to more than 2600 species of agarics, boletes and cyphellaceous fungi from northern Europe (try the key to Amanita).
